INGREDIENTS

1 egg

1 tsp water

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1 gluten-free puff pastry sheet, thawed

2 Tbsp jarred pizza sauce, more for dipping

1/2 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup pepperoni, chopped

2 Tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

Optional: ranch dressing for dipping, blue cheese dressing for dipping


HOW TO MAKE

-Preheat oven to 425 and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

-In a small bowl, beat the egg and water together.

-In another small bowl, combine Italian seasoning and garlic powder.

-On a lightly gluten-free floured flat surface, roll a thawed puff pastry out to about 1/4-inch thick.

-Spread pizza sauce on one half of the puff pastry, leaving about 1/4-1/2 inch border around the edges.

-Evenly sprinkle 1/2 of the Italian seasoning and garlic powder mixture on top of the pizza sauce.

-Sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the pizza sauce.

-Sprinkle the pepperoni on top of the mozzarella.

-Fold the plain puff pastry side over the other half with filling, pressing around the edges to seal.

-Cut the puff pastry along the short side into 8 equal strips.

-Gently twist each strip and place on the baking sheet.

-Repeat for the remaining strips.

-Brush the top of each twist with the egg wash.

-Evenly sprinkle the remaining spice mixture and Parmesan on the top of each twist.

-Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden and cheese is melted.

-Serve warm with preferred dipping sauces.
